Mauritius: Horse racing Horse racing is one of the most popular sports in Mauritius. The only race track, Champ de Mars (1812), situated in Port Louis, regularly attracts over 30,000 people.

Usually 23 race-meetings are being held every year, starting from May and ending in November. Betting is allowed and competition is nail biting.
