Mauritius: Crater Situated in the town of Curepipe in Mauritius is the Trou Aux Cerfs crater. This crater, measuring more than 350 meter in diameter, was formed as a result of volcanic activity millions of years ago. Filled with dense forest and water, Trou Aux Cerfs is about 80 meters deep. The carter offers a panoramic view of the island from its top surface. A road leads to the top and around the rim. There is plenty of parking, a kiosk, a radar station and plenty of picturesque views around the island.
